Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for someone who wants to work in a production-related role with a focus on occupational health and safety for the Industrial division and the Special Coating department. The department has grown significantly in recent years and has approximately 175 employees, of which just over 20 are managers, spread across the country. The department has four operational areas: Road Marking, Asphalt Milling, Laboratory Operations, and Tank Coating. We believe it is best if you are located at one of our offices in Örebro or Jönköping.
Your mission in a production-related role within occupational health and safetyIn this role, you will have a central function in the Special Coating department's occupational health and safety work. One of your primary tasks will be to act as a coach within Svevia's project and work methodology Secure the Foundation, where you drive and strengthen the work with safe behaviors at the workplaces. You will work operationally and be a support to our managers in their daily work. For example, by supporting managers in the reporting and handling of risk observations, incidents, and accidents. You analyze data and contribute to concrete improvement measures. Another important occupational health and safety activity is to conduct safety rounds together with managers and ensure good occupational health and safety order at our offices and establishments. Before the season starts, you will help train our employees in occupational health and safety. You actively work to keep occupational health and safety issues alive and prioritized in various forums.
The role also involves being an operational extension of the division's central KMA function, as well as being the chemical coordinator for certain parts of the operation and ensuring correct handling according to regulations and guidelines. You will also lead various projects or initiatives related to the environment, occupational health and safety, or closely related areas.
In summary, this is a very important role for the department. Occupational health and safety is our highest priority, and therefore you will be part of the department's management team, which consists of the department manager, four operational managers, a controller, and an HR Business Partner.
Who are you?We are looking for someone with experience as a supervisor, manager, or officer in the contracting industry and has a strong interest in occupational health and safety, or a relatively newly graduated engineer with an interest in production and occupational health and safety. It may also suit you if you have previously worked with environmental and occupational health and safety issues in another industry and now want to make the transition to ours.
The most important thing for success is your engagement and genuine interest in occupational health and safety and improvement work.
To thrive in the role, you need to want to work operationally and closely with production, where you support managers and the operation practically and not just through advice. You are comfortable working with and speaking in front of groups, can challenge discussions, and dare to question established ways of working. As a person, you have the ability to adapt your message depending on the audience and can thus act as a catalyst for change.
You are comfortable alternating between office work and being out in the operation around the country. You see the value of being physically present to build relationships and ensure that information and training are received correctly. You have good IT skills and a well-developed administrative ability.
To give you the best possible start, you will receive support from an experienced mentor who has previously held a closely related role. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in other departments with similar roles. Furthermore, your onboarding at Svevia and the Special Coating department will be well-planned. If you come with engagement, drive, and interest in occupational health and safety, we promise to give you all the conditions to succeed in the role!
Part of something biggerSvevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in coatings in Sweden.
Behind every road, there is more than the obvious surface: a whole industry of knowledge and delivery capacity. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.
It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes ballast, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 of our own quarries, our own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that the products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, asphalting, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.
Why Svevia? With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, it is easy to influence and make your voice heard.
We have career paths for those who want to become managers and leaders or want to develop in their existing professional roles. It is as a team that we create success. That is how we do business and generate results. That is how we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
